Pareidolia

Have you ever been walking in the fog and you swear you have seen a ghostly face?

Or put your hand inside a packet of Dorito’s and pulled out a chip and you swear it just looks like  Jesus. Or a burnt piece of toast with a ghostly face looking back at you.

Dont worry its just your mind playing tricks on you. It’s the Psychological Phenomenon that cause’s people to see or hear a vague sound or random image as something more significant.

The word Pareidolia is derived from the greek words Para, meaning something faulty, wrong instead of,and the noun eidolon, meaning image, form or shape.

Scientists believe that people who have an interest in the paranormal are more likely to see a random face in the mist or hear a strange noise and automatically think its something spooky.

A woman from Miami sold a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich on eBay for $28.000 in 2004. All because she said it resembled the face of Jesus Christ.

Another  appearance of Jesus Christ was found in a flour tortilla in 1977 in New Mexico Roswell.

So when your out walking in the middle of the night and there’s a strange face in the fog looking back at you.Or you hear a sound in your house in the middle of the night that scares you, just think is it Pareidolia,or is there something actually there ready to pounce.
